10-Nov-2008 Design Engineer Balqon Corporation is seeking a Design Engineer to assist in product development at its new facility in Harbor City, Los Angeles, California. Balqon Corporation is one of the leading manufacturers of high capacity electric trucks and is seeking individuals with automotive or industrial equipment design backgrounds. This position is responsible for the design and development of non-electrical components and systems for our vehicles.

Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
•Strong knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles including stress analysis.
•Experience using Solid Works or other 3D CAD software.
•Proficiency in communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
•Experience creating Bill of Materials.
•Good organizational skills.
•Basic mechanical "hands-on" ability.
•Knowledge of automobiles and experience with manufacturing and fabrication processes is a plus.
•Past experience in product development from concept to mass production a plus.
